Hi, I’m Kristie—photographer, storyteller, and preservationist based in Southern Maryland, where the water, woods, and flyway have shaped both my life and my work.
My love for photography started early—with a green Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle camera in hand—and grew into a lifelong passion. After taking photography courses in high school, I followed that passion to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Applied Design Photography in 2006. I began my career teaching photography at the College of Southern Maryland while also photographing families, sports and weddings.
In April 2009, I had the honor of joining the U.S. House of Representatives as an Official House Photographer under the Chief Administrative Officer. Today, I serve as a Program Specialist with House Creative Services, where I support visual storytelling, digital asset management, and the preservation of historical imagery. For years prior, I also led as Supervisor of Photography & Multimedia, overseeing the Photo and Video team. Simply put—during the week, I help capture history at the U.S. Capitol.
Outside of that world, my heart is in Southern Maryland.
You’ll find me in a kayak during a hot day, wading through cold water in the middle of duck season, or tucked into the woods documenting the quiet, powerful moments that come with hunting and fishing. My work focuses on more than just images—it’s about legacy. It’s about the stories passed down, the traditions lived out, and the connections we have to the land and water.
That same passion led me to create Southern Maryland Archives, a space dedicated to preserving the past. Through photo scanning, restoration, and memory preservation, I help families protect what matters most—their history. Because one day, these photographs will be all we have left, and they deserve to last.
I’m also a proud hockey mom, often found at the rink capturing my son’s moments on the ice—another reminder that time moves fast, and memories matter.
If you're looking for someone to document your next hunting trip, your child’s first harvest, or a once-in-a-lifetime moment in the field—I’m all in. As both a photographer and an avid hunter and angler, I understand these experiences from the inside out, and that connection shows in my work.
Thank you for being here and supporting what I love to do.
